Celebrate Jesus!
Pastor Tom Joyce
March 14, 2022
“When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, ‘Woman, you are set free from your ailment.’”
Luke 13:12
It has been said that there is a time and a place for everything; and that may be true, but maybe not always…. When Jesus healed, he only considered the person, not the time nor the place that healing took place. In the case of Jesus healing a woman unable to stand up straight, he didn’t even ask if she wanted healed; he just healed her. There is an urgency to Jesus’ ministry and when the opportunity to serve presents itself, it should be taken! That is the good news about the Good News of Jesus Christ; there is no appointment needed to know the healing presence of Jesus, and there is no appointed time except the present time. Those in authority were none too happy with Jesus’ timing, after all it was the Sabbath and Sabbath is when all the focus is on God and to be nurtured in faith, absorbing the Word read and proclaimed. The miracle of healing, whether of body or spirit, is affirmation of the presence of God in the lives of people and ought to be celebrated no matter the season, time of day or earthly mandate. When you are released from crippling burdens, it is time to celebrate the freedom of new life that God through our living Savior Jesus Christ offers. Jesus is working a miracle in you this very moment; “praise God for all the wonderful things Jesus is doing” in your life, to heal and to save.
