Dazed and Amazed Acts 2:1-21

“All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, what does this mean?”

Acts 2:12

God created with a Word and equips with a breath. It is obvious to most that God created the heavens and the earth; the universe is too vast and complex to have come together by happenstance…. Even after we were created, God did not leave us alone, for long. It is one thing to be created by God fully another to be redeemed and empowered by God, and that is what God has done through our Lord Jesus Christ and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is amazing how God works and empowers people to do things beyond their wildest dreams. On the day of Pentecost, it became clear that though there were differences in language and culture, all came together and understood that each was unique yet shared a oneness with God. Where humanity tends to classify, God empowers to unify. On the first day of Pentecost the people were amazed because all that they believed to be reality was turned on its head; God had other plans. God has plans for you as well, but you are well equipped to fulfill God’s plan by the Holy Spirit that is part of you. Consider the Holy Spirit to be the fuel you need to do the Lord’s work in bold new ways. You are an amazing person equipped with incredible gifts to be used to do incredible things. You have been blessed and empowered by the Holy Spirit to break down barriers, seeing all people as beloved children of God; “See what love the Father has given us that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are.” (I John 3:1) Be amazed at the power of God and know that the same power that created the heavens and the earth has empowered and redeemed you. Thank you Jesus for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the blessing of being your child.
