Remember Hebrews 13:1-8

There are times when we all need to pause, take a breath, and remember whose we are. We need to take  time to remember that we are not living in isolation and that our witness is profoundly important to those around us. The Bible is all about remembering; “remember” is used in the Bible 352 times and with variations that total is more than 550. (Deseret.com) God knows we forget. God knows we have so much on our calendar and so many other things happening that we forget to remember those around us and may even forget how profoundly important our faith is to our lives.  We forget to remember those who need the message of hope in their lives; we forget to remember those who need joy in their lives; we forget to remember those who are lonely who just need someone to care. We forget to remember those who loved us unconditionally, who taught us the Word, who picked us up when we fell, and who bound our wounds when we have been wounded. This “Jesus thing” that we are all about is remembering first and foremost that each of us is loved without condition, that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came not to “condemn the world but so that the world may be saved through him.” (John 3:17) The incredible joy and privilege of faith is to “let mutual love continue,” and to witness the love of God through Jesus Christ that promises to be with us “always to the end of the age.” Remember, Jesus Christ is the “same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) The Word does not change with our attitudes or with our desires. We serve a loving God, a God of second chances, of grace, mercy, forgiveness, and hope for all who turn to the “One who neither slumbers nor sleeps.” We are reminded over 500 times of God’s love in the Bible for a reason; to witness that love and let the love of God permeate through our very being, through good times and through bad.  You are incredibly loved by God; may that same love continue through you.  Thank you Jesus for the privilege of witnessing what we have received through you.
