Health Update
A note from Pastor Tom:
As has been reported, there is an international outbreak of Coronavirus disease. Though the Lorain County Public Health Department considers the risk low to the general public, Fields United Methodist Church is being proactive during this outbreak and the flu season. If you are sick, stay home from church activities to reduce any potential spread to others, especially those who have underlying health conditions making them more susceptible to contracting and becoming seriously ill. If you are unable to attend worship services, both our 9:00 and 11:00 Sunday morning worship services are livestreamed and can be accessed via our website, FaceBook, and Youtube.
To help prevent infection with coronaviruses and other illnesses, take the following precautions as recommended by the Lorain County Public Health Department and Center of Disease Control:
- Wash your hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water. If unavailable, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or tissue when you sneeze or cough.
- Avoid close contact (touching or shaking hands) with people who are sick or vulnerable.
- Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes with unwashed hands.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Get adequate sleep and eat well-balanced meals to ensure a healthy immune system.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
If you are sick or just staying home to avoid any possible exposure and you need to offer prayer requests or would like to speak with me, feel free to call, email (dr.tom.joyce@gmail.com) or contact the church office at 440-327-8753 or email fieldsofficemanager@gmail.com; I am here for you as always. As a church, we will do our best to keep our church clean and to take precautions to keep people safe and healthy. We will continue to monitor any updates from the Lorain County Board of Health and the Ohio Department of Health and will ensure that any necessary response is prayerful, thoughtful, measured and prioritizes the health and safety of our community while continuing the ongoing ministry of Jesus Christ through Fields United Methodist Church. Please keep in prayer all those who are sick and in need of the love of Jesus in their lives.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Tom Joyce, pastor
