Celebrate Jesus!

“Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; therefore, I did not presume to come to you. But only speak the word, and let my servant be healed.”

Luke 7:6-7

We certainly have our reasons for not approaching Jesus; “There are people who need more help than me;” “I do not have enough faith,” “I am not worthy.”  The gift of healing, thankfully, does not depend on us. Prayers for healing transcends who we are; our prayers are all about the grace of Jesus Christ and his worthiness and not our own. You have an open invitation to receive the healing presence of Jesus for you and for those in your prayers. To confess who you are and to acknowledge your need for Jesus in your life is to accept and celebrate the healing presence of Jesus.  Take comfort in knowing that you are worthy because Jesus is worthy; he died for you so you may live a life in the abundance of the very presence of the One who has called you by name. It is your faith in the power of God through Jesus Christ that will free you from the ball and chain of feeling unworthy in order that you can experience the assurance that there is nothing in this world that will separate you from the love of God through Christ Jesus your Lord. (Romans 8:39)
