A Joyful Noise Psalm 100

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.”

Psalm 100:1

Have you ever thought about what God considers “music?” Many of us are particular when it comes to our music; musical taste varies as much as the weather in Northeastern Ohio. We often think of worship in terms of occurring on a particular day with our preferred style of music ringing in our ears. God does not seem as picky as we often are; as the Psalm proclaims, “make a joyful noise to the Lord!” In the eyes and ears of God, worship happens every time we lift our voices in praise and thanksgiving. We are in God’s presence while we sleep, during every second of our waking hours until we rest our weary head to ready ourselves for the day ahead. A “joyful noise” to God is a constant melody of thanksgiving from our heart to God’s. When we give all we have to God which is our heart, mind, soul, and strength; we draw closer to God and will even more completely know the love God has for each of us. It does not matter if you can read music, let alone song a note on key. It does not matter what kind of music you prefer as long as it gives glory to God. Seasons change as do music preferences, but God’s “love endures forever.” (Psalm 100:5) Make your life a joyful noise to the Lord and you will know the peace that only God, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can offer. Thank you Jesus for the privilege of worship and making a joyful noise to you, not only on Sunday but all the days of our life.
