A Future with Hope Jeremiah 29:10-14

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Some view God as a condemning God, one that inflicts suffering indiscriminately, one that inhibits freedom, and a God that only serves those who “tow the line.” Yet the Bible offers a totally different revelation of God. The Bible witnesses a gracious God, one that loves so completely that God bore the condemnation of humanity so that humanity could be saved from a condemning, judgmental, and freedom-robbing human reality. It is through Jesus that all people are offered an opportunity to live in a whole new way, free from the restrictions that hatred, judgment, and self-centeredness imposes upon our lives. God’s vision for you is to live in the abundance of God’s grace which not only transforms your life but also the lives of those around you. In a few weeks we will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ; hope made real. Jesus conquered the grave opening for us the very gates of paradise. The Resurrection changes everything, it is the future that affirms the hope of everlasting life; it is the future that offers hope beyond human suffering and pain. Each of us can live in this hope today, and each of us can celebrate today knowing there will be a tomorrow and that we are not forgotten. God, through Jesus Christ offers a new way of looking at life, and living life in abundance. No matter where you find yourself on life’s journey, there is hope for the present and for the future; that is our faith and God’s commitment to you. You are loved, so loved that the creator of the universe has promised to be with you, even to the end of the age; for your welfare and not for harm, to give you [especially you] a future with hope. Thank you Jesus, for the true gift of life.
