Always Room Luke 14:15-24

“Go out into the roads and lanes, and compel people to come in, so my house may be filled.”

Luke 14:23

What if you made preparations for a huge party, inviting everybody you knew?  The list of those to be invited was made and invitations were sent out. You were so excited to see people around the table and in the backyard.  The only problem was; your party was not a priority to those you invited. Maybe if there was nothing better to do that day they may have attended, but the day of your party folks made other plans that sounded more fun. We all have been offered a seat at the table of the Lord; the invitation written by the very hand of God. Trouble is, the invitation can easily get lost in the shuffle of life.  God waits for us to accept because our presence means so much to God. In fact, God sent Jesus to show the way to the banquet, and made acceptance pretty straight-forward. God’s grace will not allow one seat at the table to go empty; weird thing is everybody has an invitation but sometimes people need to be reminded, we need to be reminded that “in my Father’s house there are many rooms.” The call goes out to everyone and the only RSVP required is accepting the grace that has been offered through Jesus Christ. Make the love of God through Jesus Christ your priority, it is your choice. And for those who believe they are not worthy of receiving an invitation, they are called as well, in fact they are sought out to make sure they know the breadth of God’s love in their lives. There is always room at the Lord’s Table; you don’t need an engraved invitation, only faith and faith alone.  Thank you Jesus for seeking us out.
