Is There Right & Wrong?

“Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness.”    (Ephesians 6:14)

What is right and what is wrong, truly wrong?  Seems like often times what is deemed “right” by one person is deemed wrong by another.  If we base our definition of righteousness, right and wrong, on how we feel then truly the line between what is right and what is wrong becomes obscured by opinion and innuendo. The truth in the flesh is Jesus, who truly sacrificed all so all who he died for could experience a whole new way of looking at the world, in “right” relationship with God and neighbor. God offers a definition of what is right and that is all wrapped around the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is a battle, but it is not a battle of flesh and blood, rather it is a spiritual battle between good and evil.  Yes, there is evil in the world, defined by a total lack of grace and a life that is totally self-centered and self-righteous. If we become the truth, then we have lost the battle.  But when we “fasten the belt of truth around our waist and put on the breastplate of righteousness, we are putting all our faith and focus on Jesus the Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit of God. When Jesus is the focus of righteousness, the truth lived will set us free from defining others based on our own agendas and vision of the truth.  Evil is in the world, no question.   There is also truth, which transcends political, social, and personal agendas. The truth that defines right and wrong is reflected in the ministry of Jesus Christ and his willingness to suffer and die so all may have an opportunity to live a new life, filled with grace, peace, and hope.  Deepen your faith in Jesus Christ and you will know truth, and the truth will set you free to truly celebrate to know what is right, good and true.  Thank you Jesus for leading the way!
